Looking for the perfect Rum Punch recipe? This is a copycat of the famous Day 1 drink from Carnival Cruise lines – they call it the Funship Special. I call it the best drink ever.

Do you have a favorite drink or snack that reminds you of vacation? One that instantly transports your mind to the beach or makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the ocean?

This drink is my mini vacation.

I love sharing favorite drinks here on the blog – my homemade strawberry lemonade is always a hit, and so is my favorite (super easy) sangria. And who can forget about Ranch Water?! Well, it’s time to add another one to the list – the ever-delicious rum punch!

This drink is extra special to me because it’s one that is offered on Carnival cruises, and if you know me, you’ll know that cruising is our very favorite way to vacation. This copycat recipe tastes exactly like the drink you can get on board the ship. Every time I take a sip I can close my eyes and practically feel the salty sea air.

So, if you need a little mini vacation in your life right now (and who doesn’t?!), allow me to suggest this delicious, wonderful drink.

A pitcher of rum punch

Rum Punch Recipe {Carnival Funship Special Copycat}

When I make a batch of Rum Punch, it never lasts long. But, I always make it in a pitcher instead of individual drinks – because chances are, if I want one, my husband will too! I recommend proceeding with caution with this particular drink – it doesn’t taste very strong, but it packs a punch!

Here’s what you need to have on hand to make this drink:

4 oz. Mango Rum
4 oz. White Rum
4 oz. Apricot Brandy
4 oz. Amaretto Liquor
2 cups Pineapple juice
2 cups Orange juice
4 oz. Grenadine

How to Make Rum Punch

This recipe is so easy, but oh so delicious. You’ll love the refreshing and fruity taste!

I start off by pouring all of the liquors into the pitcher. Then, I mix in the pineapple and orange juices. Finally, top it off with the grenadine and stir it all in. If you really want to get fancy with things, you can add a small slice of pineapple or orange and a little umbrella. Because, if we can do anything to make it feel even more like a vacation, why wouldn’t we?!

Variations

Of course, as with any drink, the sky’s the limit when it comes to changing things up!

You can play around with different ratios of juice and alcohol to make it more or less strong, depending on your preferences. If you want to play around with different flavors, here are a few ideas for you:

  • Swap the mango rum for coconut rum for a really tropical flavor.
  • If you aren’t a rum fan, you can swap it for vodka, champagne, or even club soda for a good mocktail!
  • You can also swap the grenadine and fruit juice for Hawaiian punch for a slightly different flavor.

Basically, feel free to use this recipe as the jumping off point for all sorts of fun!

How long does Rum Punch Last?

This stuff never stays in my fridge more than a day, two tops.

Oh, you’re asking how long can it last?

I’d keep it in the fridge for up to 5-6 days, as long as you don’t have any fresh fruit mixed in. But, I’d honestly be shocked if it lasted that long without someone drinking it! This stuff goes fast in our house!
