Our 2022 Fall Bucket List

Can you believe fall is here?! It’s time for another one of our seasonal bucket lists, and I’m really excited to share this one with you. Why? Because fall is my VERY FAVORITE. So, creating a fall bucket list is basically the most fun I have all year. It makes me so excited for all the fall fun ahead of us, and gives me all the warm fuzzies.

Forget the fact that here in Texas it’s still 90+ degrees every day and it’ll be at least another month before it even kind of feels like fall around here. I’m in full fall mode!

I’ve shared our bucket lists here on the blog a number of times. It’s something I do for every season, because I love how it helps our family intentionally celebrate the little things. Bucket lists help us make sure we don’t forget any of our little traditions and keep us in the moment all season long.

You’ll find that many fall bucket lists (including mine from year to year) have a lot of the same items. That’s because there are just some things that scream fall! I recommend you check out the bucket list below, along with last year’s fall bucket list and just see which one resonates better with you. Then, you can either print out my version of the list or you can copy all of the ideas onto your own list.

Either way, the point is that you make a little list of all the things you want to do over the course of the season and stick it up on the fridge. Then, on days when your family is bored and looking for a fun activity you can just do something from the fall bucket list! The kids get so excited about crossing things off, and even things that normally wouldn’t be a big deal (like soup for dinner) feel extra special.

Our list for 2022 includes the following items:

  • Jump in a pile of leaves.
  • Burn a fall-scented candle.
  • Have a movie marathon.
  • Visit a pumpkin patch.
  • Make homemade soup.
  • Watch a football game.
  • Simmer potpourri on the stove.
  • Have a caramel apple.
  • Visit a haunted house.
  • Decorate for Halloween.
  • Roast pumpkin seeds.
  • Do a big puzzle.
  • Go on a hay ride.
  • Tell a scary story.
  • Make pumpkin bread.
  • Collect fall leaves for a craft.
  • Go on a nature hike.
  • Carve a pumpkin.
  • Make a list of things you’re grateful for.

A few of these things have been on our lists every year for as long as I can remember. But, a few of them are new – we’ve never made pumpkin bread! We have only roasted pumpkin seeds once, on a whim. We never go to haunted houses, but I think Jackson might be big enough to try (a mild) one!

I’ve been counting down the days to fall since mid-July, so I’m really excited we’re here. We’ve officially got our fall bucket list printed and on the fridge, and we’re ready to celebrate!
